Designed with a subtle hint of red, the Samsung LN52A650 52 inch makes a bold statement in LCD HDTV design technology, and this could be the color of things to come!

Mind you, some televisions come with a wood finish so, getting one with a hint of red could just very well be the trend with home decor enthusiasts who may very well be looking to mix and match furniture around!

Based on sterling user reviews from friends and peers alike who own this Samsung LN52A550 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, word has it that it produces arguably the best picture of any LCD TV on the market!

Once a critic of Samsung, seeing is believing they say, and my LN52A650 52, which is actually a true 50 inch than 52, has been gracing the comforts of my living room wall these past 6 months, and I haven’t looked back. I just love the fact that pedestal swivels; making it super easy to watch from any angle in the room, and the HDTV lends itself to being light on the hands when moving it around the house or aiming to mount it on the living room wall or home office.

Without the stand, this Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV comes in at 50.2 inches wide by 31.7 inches tall by 4.1 inches deep and a mere 64.6 pounds! It also helps to note that the setup was a breeze too!

Hard to believe? We’d rather let you be the judge!

After all, the mad Scientists from Korea spend sleepless nights conceptualizing and inventing technology you can use – for life!

Samsung designed the LNA650 series to incorporate the company’s Red Touch of Color design scheme which, instead of the standard glossy black HDTV frame, the LNA650 series sport dark-red accents that suffuse the entire frame, but are most prominent along the top and bottom edge and either side. Add to this Samsung’s trademark shiny anti glare and anti dust screen, and you have yourself the edge and a talking point for the whole year around the water cooler in the office!

Think Red Wine…a fine Merlot I presume, but without the hint of bitterness or after taste, depending on the origins of the wine…naturally!

Samsung’s new menu system is sleeker than before and blessed with big, highly legible text set against a transparent background that occupies almost the whole screen.

Navigating around the menu and channels is easy; there’s helpful explanatory text along the bottom, with a rich context-sensitive menu that pops up occasionally to provide more options. Overall, it’s one of the best-designed and most-attractive menu systems we’ve seen on any HDTV.

Key Features
Whilst these are too numerous to mention, the following captured our minds and imagination, and are worth mentioning here…

  • Blazing 4ms response time: down from 8ms on 2007 models, thanks to a new high-speed liquid crystal
  • Sports and Game modes boost on-screen performance and interaction with the latest gaming systems
  • Side-mounted USB 2.0 port: connect USB devices directly to your HDTV – great for viewing still images such as photos etc!
  • 178-degree viewing angle from all four axes with Super Patterned Vertical Alignment – this is due to the swivel pedestal

Once connected, any of the devices connected can be accessed through a single interface menu and through the newly redesigned Wheel Key Remote control!
